3 years agoOakland Athletics catcher Yan Gomes went 2-for-4 with an RBI in a win versus the White Sox on Wednesday. Gomes knocked in Mark Canha with a single in the third inning as the former National has been a nice boost for an A's team that has been scuffling lately. Gomes' fantasy appeal isn't as strong, however; Sean Murphy is also in the mix and manager Bob Melvin has been giving both catchers playing time, which has led to neither Gomes nor Murphy being fantasy relevant in one-catcher leagues. Gomes is slugging .436 on the season, though, so he's a solid option in two-catcher fantasy leagues despite fewer at-bats than most starting catchers in baseball.--Mike Schwarzenbach - RotoBaller
