3 years agoThe Detroit Tigers will reportedly place left-handed starter Matthew Boyd (elbow) on the injured list. According to a tweet from The Detroit Free Press' Evan Petzold, Boyd "has reoccurring elbow soreness." The left-hander was scratched his Friday start against the Tampa Bay Rays. It's certainly not ideal news for the Tigers or fantasy managers. In 78.2 innings this season, Boyd has pitched to a 3.89 ERA, a 4.09 FIP, 67 strikeouts, and 23 walks. Tyler Alexander is starting in Boyd's place against the Rays and seems like the most likely candidate to step into the rotation moving forward.--Ben Rosener - RotoBaller
