The 30-year-old is batting .272 with a .335 on-base percentage, 19 home runs, and five stolen bases in 451 plate appearances this season. Instead, Delino DeShields Jr. is getting the start in center field and batting eighth against the St. Louis Cardinals and left-hander Jon Lester.
