3 years agoLos Angeles Chargers running back Austin Ekeler rushed the ball 15 times for 57 yards and a touchdown in a Week 1 victory against the Washington Football Team. With his touchdown, Ekeler became the sixth undrafted player ever with 10 or more rushing touchdowns and 15 or more receiving touchdowns. Ekeler was questionable entering the contest with a hamstring injury, but suited up and escaped the contest with full health. The Chargers top running back has generally been a PPR beast, but saw surprisingly saw no targets in the pass game. Managers shouldn't worry about that too much at the moment and Ekeler should continue to be extremely valuable in PPR leagues moving forward. Next up for Ekeler will be a much easier defensive opponent with the Dallas Cowboys on the schedule. Even though he suited up, rookie Larry Rountree III got eight carries compared to veteran Justin Jackson's one and it appears Rountree is the insurance policy for managers that roster Ekeler. Ekeler should continue to provide plenty of value for managers moving forward and should be treated as a RB1 in all formats.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
