3 years agoWashington Nationals catcher Alex Avila hit his first home run of the season Sunday against the Pittsburgh Pirates. It was his only hit in four at-bats. Avila is not expected to see much playing time the rest of the season, as most of the innings at catcher will be taken by Keibert Ruiz and Riley Adams, but he capitalized on his opportunity.
