Chris Paddack Hits The Injured List
3 years agoSan Diego Padres starting pitcher Chris Paddack (elbow) was placed on the 10-day injured list with elbow inflammation on Monday, according to A.J. Cassavell of MLB.com. The move is retroactive to September 12, so he's eligible to be activated on September 22. In a corresponding move, the team has called up right-hander Shaun Anderson. The Padres are aiming for Paddack to come back and make a start next week against the San Francisco Giants. He's been disappointing for the second straight season, posting a 5.07 ERA and 21.6 K% over 108.1 innings. With Blake Snell (groin) also a candidate to miss time, the Padres will likely turn to Ryan Weathers to start games, but it's unclear who else will join him.
