Yordan Alvarez Working At First Base
3 years agoHouston Astros designated hitter/outfielder Yordan Alvarez has worked out at first base recently in hopes that he will move there in the future, according to the Houston Chronicle. Manager Dusty Baker said he tried to play Alvarez at first last week, but he wasn't ready. Alvarez is one of the top hitters in the American League but is a liability out in the field. He's slashing .280/.349/.528 this season with 28 HRs, 91 RBI, and 80 runs over 125 games. He's a good player in every format, and if he does end up playing some first base, it shouldn't be long before he's fantasy eligible at the position.
