Andy Dalton Not Believed To Have ACL, MCL Damage
3 years agoChicago Bears quarterback Andy Dalton (knee) is scheduled to have an MRI on Monday after suffering an injury early in Sunday's game against the Cincinnati Bengals. There is not believed to be an ACL tear or any MCL damage, and the initial diagnosis for the veteran is a bone bruise. This would be the best-case scenario for Dalton as he likely wouldn't miss significant time, but the Bears are in good hands without him. Justin Fields took over in Week 2 and threw for 60 yards while adding another 31 yards on the ground. If Dalton misses any significant period of time, it might be a challenge for him to regain the starting job if the rookie performs well in his absence. Fields would automatically be a lower-end QB1 because of his rushing upside and could be inserted into fantasy lineups without hesitation. Hold on to Dalton in two-QB leagues, but if he misses some time it is safe to cut ties with him.
