Ranger Suarez Fires Six Solid Innings Despite Loss
3 years agoPhiladelphia Phillies starting pitcher Ranger Suarez was the tough-luck loser on Monday night despite tossing six strong innings versus the Orioles. Suarez had a rough first inning as he allowed three straight singles to let in two runs. That was all Baltimore could muster versus Suarez who settled in nicely after that rocky inning. On the night, Suarez needed 102 pitches to complete six innings, picking up five strikeouts along the way, but it wasn't enough to avoid a loss as the Phillies were shut down by John Means and two Baltimore relievers. Suarez will carry a pristine 1.60 ERA and 1.06 WHIP into another soft matchup with the Pirates. He's a must-start fantasy asset in all leagues.
