Alek Manoah Victorious Despite Wild Command
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays starting pitcher Alek Manoah improved his record to 7-2 on the season on Tuesday as his club defeated the Rays 4-2. The right-hander was a bit wild in this one by walking six batters and beaning another, but he managed to give up just two runs on five hits over his six frames of work. Manoah punched out seven on the night to give him 109 K in 99 IP this season to go along with a sharp 3.36 ERA and 1.08 in his first 18 big-league starts. He'll have a chance to improve upon his excellent rookie campaign in his next outing this weekend versus the Twins.
