German Marquez Coughs Up Five Runs On Wednesday
3 years agoColorado Rockies starting pitcher German Marquez took a no-decision on Wednesday when he allowed five runs on six hits with four walks and four strikeouts in a 10-5 win over the Dodgers. This wasn't a good start for Marquez, who lacked control and efficiency. He managed to make it through three-inning without allowing a run before running into trouble in the fourth. He surrendered three runs in the fourth inning and two in the fifth before getting yanked. Marquez has largely struggled since the All-Star break and has just two quality starts in his last eight. The 26-year-old owns a 4.32 ERA, 1.26 WHIP, and 172:62 K/BB ratio over 175 innings (31 starts). He'll take on the Nationals at home in his next start.
