3 years agoNew York Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez isn't in the lineup on Friday. The Yankees will take on the Boston Red Sox and right-hander Nathan Eovaldi but will do so with the catcher on the bench. Sanchez is batting .211 with a .313 on-base percentage and 23 home runs in 415 plate appearances this season. Instead, Kyle Higashioka will start behind the plate on Friday and hit ninth. The 31-year-old is batting .184 with a .254 on-base percentage and 10 home runs in 197 plate appearances.
