Luke Voit Isn't Starting On Friday
3 years agoNew York Yankees first baseman Luke Voit isn't starting on Friday against the Boston Red Sox and right-hander Nathan Eovaldi. Voit is hitting .241 with a .329 on-base percentage and 11 home runs in 240 plate appearances this season. Voit has just two hits in his last 26 plate appearances, but both were home runs. Including Friday's game, the first baseman has started just three of New York's last seven games. It'll be Anthony Rizzo starting at first base and hitting second against Boston. Rizzo is hitting .249 with a .348 on-base percentage, 20 home runs, and six stolen bases in 538 plate appearances this season.
