3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Trey Sermon is expected to see the bulk of the carries on Sunday night against the Packers. Sermon, who cleared the concussion protocol on Friday, is one of three active backs on the roster- along with Trenton Cannon and Jacques Patrick. The 2021 third-rounder was a healthy scratch in Week 1, though the coaching staff has reportedly been impressed with the strides he's made since that point, setting the stage for his primetime NFL debut against a Packers' defense that has struggled to stop the run recently. Even with unpredictable head coach Kyle Shanahan calling the plays, Sermon has a chance to have a solid night Sunday.--Tim Capurso
