3 years agoDenny Hamlin took advantage of opportunities and won the South Point 400 on Sunday night from Las Vegas. That guarantees him a spot in the Round Of 8. It was his second race of the season. Also, this was the second time Hamlin won an opening three-race segment during the playoff chase. The No. 11 car led 137 of 267 laps on the night and dominated the final long run. He did hold off a hard-charging Chase Elliott by just under a half-second. No one else was within 12 seconds. The Joe Gibbs Racing team fared much better than expected with three drivers in the top four spots. Hamlin, however, took the top spot on Sunday night.--Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
