Martin Truex Jr. Fades Some Late, Finishes Fourth at Vegas
3 years agoMartin Truex Jr. just did not have the speed late but still finished fourth at Las Vegas on Sunday night. He was fourth after Stage 2 and it looked like the No. 19 car might challenge to win. That was not the case. Truex Jr. led just one lap early in the race and that was it. The good news is that again the Joe Gibbs Racing driver is in a good position to advance to the Round of 8. This three-race segment sets up decently for the No. 19. As the playoff chase hits its halfway point next week at Talladega, expect Truex Jr. to implement some strategy with how he races. This week at least, Truex Jr. got rewarded for being smart.
