Jaime Barria Out For The Year
3 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher Jaime Barria (shoulder) landed on the 10-day injured list on Sunday with a right shoulder impingement. His start on Saturday was cut short after just two innings after he initially had arm fatigue. With six games left on the campaign, Barria will be out for the remainder of the season. He was having a tough season on the bump for the Halos, posting a 4.61 ERA, 35 strikeouts and 19 walks over 56 2/3 innings. According to manager Joe Maddon, rookie Reid Detmers could start in Barria's place on Saturday against the Seattle Mariners. Detmers made four starts before landing on the injured list and being optioned to Triple-A on Sept. 23. The top prospect has a 7.11 ERA with 17 strikeouts across 19 innings in the majors this year and should be left on the waiver wire in most leagues.
