Sonny Gray Takes Ninth Loss In Final Start Of 2021
3 years agoCincinnati Reds right-hander Sonny Gray allowed five runs in 4 2/3 innings in a 6-1 loss to the Chicago White Sox on Wednesday. Gray struck out six, walked one, and allowed five hits in the loss. The veteran right-hander finishes his 2021 season with a 7-9 record, 4.19 ERA, 1.22 WHIP, and 155 strikeouts over 135 1/3 innings of work. Gray's 4.19 ERA is the highest he has posted since back in 2018 when he finished with a 4.90 ERA as a member of the New York Yankees. The veteran right-hander is under contract with the Reds for another year with a club option in 2023.
