3 years agoDenny Hamlin, behind his two wins in four playoff races, was awarded the pole at Talladega on Sunday. His Fall race record is rather good as well. Consider the fact, the No. 11 car has finished no worse than sixth during the second Talladega race since 2017. That includes last year's win where he led a total of 26 laps. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver led 43 laps during this year's Spring race but ran into problems and then a crash finished his afternoon. Starting at the front could be beneficial considering no one from beyond 20th has won the race in the modern era. --Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
