Christian Yelich Getting A Breather Thursday
3 years agoMilwaukee Brewers outfielder Christian Yelich will take a seat Thursday against the St. Louis Cardinals. It's been another down year for the one-time MVP, as he's slashed .247/.360/.374 with eight stolen bases and just nine home runs in 115 games. His numbers are even worse off of left-handers, posting a .628 OPS, so with J.A. Happ starting for the Cardinals, it's a good day to give him a rest. Jace Peterson will take his spot in the outfield and bat seventh. He's an underwhelming hitter, slashing .251/.354/.375, but has some speed with 10 SBs across 91 games and has hit .283 against southpaws this season. He's a streaming option in deep leagues only.
