Joey Gallo Absent From Thursday's Lineup
3 years agoNew York Yankees outfielder Joey Gallo (arm) is not in the starting lineup for Thursday's matchup against the Toronto Blue Jays. Gallo injured his right forearm Wednesday night after getting hit by a pitch, and will get the day off. However, he's feeling better and is day-to-day, according to Marly Rivera of ESPN. Gallo's having a bounceback year in 149 games this season, slashing .199/.352/.463 with 38 home runs, 76 RBI, and 88 runs. It'll be Giancarlo Stanton shifting to the outfield in his place, while Kyle Higashioka will start behind the plate for the designated hitter Gary Sanchez. Higashioka is a defense-first catcher, batting .188 with a .658 OPS. He does have 10 HRs in 65 games, but fantasy managers can probably find better on the waiver wire.
