3 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Sean Manaea allowed two runs across 5 2/3 innings pitched to pick up his 11th victory of the season Friday at Houston. Manaea picked up six strikeouts to cap a fine 2021 season. The 29-year-old lefty finished the season 11-10, with a 3.91 ERA, a 1.23 WHIP, and career-highs in innings pitched (179 1/3) and strikeouts (194). He's not the flashiest pitcher as his 25.7% strikeout rate and 28.6% CSW rate are near league-average, but Manaea pitched deep into games and made all 32 starts for the first time in his career.
