Reid Detmers Cut Short Sunday
3 years agoLos Angeles Angels starting pitcher Reid Detmers didn't last long on Sunday against the Seattle Mariners, pitching just 1 2/3 innings in the 7-3 victory. He gave up two runs, both coming in the second inning, on three hits, two walks and a couple of strikeouts. It was his first start since Aug. 21 before landing on the injured list and making a brief trip to the minors. In five starts this season, he posted a 7.40 ERA, 19 strikeouts and a 1.79 WHIP across 20 2/3 innings. It's unclear what the plans are for Detmers to begin next season, but he does project as a front-of-the-rotation starter. From what he showed this year, though, he shouldn't be drafted much next season.
