Shohei Ohtani Ends The Year With A Home Run
3 years agoLos Angeles Angels designated hitter/starting pitcher Shohei Ohtani had one hit -- a home run -- in three at-bats during Sunday's 7-3 win over the Seattle Mariners. It was a solo shot in the first inning that gave him 100 RBI on the season. He also walked twice, his 20th and 21st walks in his last 14 games. He ends the season with a .257/.372/.592 slash line, along with 46 home runs and 26 stolen bases. He also finishes the year with impressive numbers on the mound, as he pitched to a 3.18 ERA, 29.3 K% and 1.09 WHIP over 130 1/3 innings. This production has made him the American League MVP front-runner, and Ohtani should be a first-round draft pick next season in almost every league.
