Alex Reyes Ends The Cardinals Season
3 years agoSt. Louis Cardinals relief pitcher Alex Reyes ended the Cardinals season in the National League Wild Card Game by giving up a two-run walk off home run to Chris Taylor in the bottom of the ninth. Reyes, who seemingly walked every other batter he faced this season and struggled down the stretch, was inexplicably called upon to pitch with a runner on second in the bottom of the ninth inning of a winner-take-all game. The loss on the box score goes to T.J. McFarland, who had left the runner on base, but the real loss is split between manager Mike Schildt and Reyes. Reyes has excellent stuff and is hard to hit, but you can get on base against him almost every time by simply not swinging the bat.
