3 years agoA.J. Allmendinger has not met a road course he did not like and that even goes for ROVALS as well. He finished seventh at his only Charlotte appearance in 2018 mostly because Allmendinger was able to maintain track position. Driving skills on road courses cannot be underestimated. It is why the driver will again be one to watch for even though he starts 33rd on Sunday. The No, 16 car should be able to move his way quickly up the field. The only question will be whether he has the speed to match the top road course drivers. That is the real wildcard. Allmendinger got lucky at Indianapolis and won because he stayed near the front so anything is possible at Charlotte especially if it rains.--Chris Wassel - RotoBaller
