3 years agoEdmonton Oilers netminder Mike Smith made 36 saves in a 3-2 shootout victory over Vancouver on Wednesday. Smith compiled three key saves in overtime to send the contest to a shootout. The 39-year-old veteran stopped six shots coming from the Canucks top forward, Elias Pettersson, as the Oilers held him pointless in the season's first game for both teams. On Saturday, Smith should get the nod as Edmonton takes on Calgary. Last season, Smith played very well against the Flames, recording a 6-3-0 record. He will be a consistent producer for fantasy managers who have him on their roster especially backstopping a strong Edmonton Oilers club.--Andrew Lennox - RotoBaller
