3 years agoSeattle Seahawks wide receiver DK Metcalf (foot) missed Thursday's practice with foot pain. The big receiver was a limited participant on Wednesday, but was downgraded to not participating on Thursday. Metcalf has dealt with foot issues throughout the season and it's possible that the Seahawks, who are already dealing with injuries to quarterback Russell Wilson (finger) and running back Chris Carson (neck) have elected to give Metcalf some extra rest. That being said, it's never a good sign to see a player pick up a DNP this late in the week. There should be more clarity about his situation on Friday and managers should monitor the injury report. Even with Geno Smith behind center, Metcalf should be considered a WR2 with WR1 potential in a Week 6 battle against the Pittsburgh Steelers. If Metcalf were to sit out, wide receivers Freddie Swain and Penny Hart would see an increase in snaps. Both Swain and Hart could be avoided in most formats.--Daniel Burdeen - RotoBaller
