3 years agoBoston Red Sox catcher Christian Vazquez will start game two of the ALCS on the bench against the Houston Astros, according to MLB.com. Vazquez slashed .258/.308/.352 with six home runs during the regular season and has hit .300 with a .750 OPS thus far in the playoffs. Kevin Plawecki will catch in his place with Nathan Eovaldi on the bump. The 30-year old backstop hit .287 with three home runs and a .349 OBP in 64 games this season. He was very strong at the dish after the All-Star break, posting a .792 OPS. Plawecki caught Nathan Eovaldi's last start, so it seems he's likely more of a personal catcher right now.--Spencer Seguin - RotoBaller
