Martin Truex Jr. Nets Chase Spot With Fourth-Place Finish
3 years agoMartin Truex Jr. had one roller coaster of a race on Sunday as he finished fourth at Martinsville. He had an excellent race car, stayed near the front all race, but nearly lost it all on lap 471. Aric Almirola got up on Truex's side and forced him into the wall. The Joe Gibbs Racing driver was able to save the car just enough. Seven laps later, Truex Jr. chose the correct lane, gained back positions, and nearly hauled in Brad Keselowski and even Kyle Busch at the end. Truex Jr. will have a chance to win the title at Phoenix where he won earlier in the season.
