Vikings Defense Likely Loses Danielle Hunter For The Season
3 years agoMinnesota Vikings defensive end Danielle Hunter (pectoral) is believed to have sustained a torn pectoral muscle during Sunday's defeat to Dallas, an injury that would end his season if an MRI confirms the severity. Hunter has been an integral cog to the Vikings defense in 2021, having compiled 38 tackles, 10 quarterback hits and six sacks across seven games. Having been named to the Pro Bowl in each of his last two active seasons, Hunter was on a similar trajectory this year, with his loss likely to force Minnesota to get creative in its pass-rushing scheme. Even with Hunter, the Vikings' next three games were going to make rostering their defense tough, facing star quarterbacks Lamar Jackson, Justin Herbert, and Aaron Rodgers, respectively.
