Chiefs Defense Lands Melvin Ingram In Deal With Steelers
3 years agoThe Kansas City Chiefs attempted to boost their edge rush just ahead of the trade deadline on Tuesday, landing linebacker/defensive end Melvin Ingram in a deal with the Steelers. Ingram appeared in six games (one start) with Pittsburgh, combining for 10 tackles, six quarterback hits, one pass defended and one sack. The Steelers will receive a sixth-round pick as compensation. The Chiefs defense has been a much-maligned unit through the first half of the season, although the potential for a second-half turnaround exists, particularly with a three-time Pro Bowler joining the fray. For the time being, Kansas City remains on the periphery of season-long consideration, particularly with quarterback Aaron Rodgers and the Packers coming to town in Week 9.
