3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers running back Jeff Wilson Jr. (knee) has a chance to be activated off the Physically Unable to Perform list ahead of this week's game against the Cardinals. Wilson has yet to play this season as he recovers from surgery to repair a torn meniscus, but he is reportedly in tremendous shape, per general manager John Lynch. The current plan is to see how the veteran halfback responds in practice, though it sounds like the team is fully prepared to put him in the backfield mix this Sunday. Rookie Elijah Mitchell has run for 100 yards and a score in each of his last two games, making him the favorite to remain the lead back. However, Wilson's return would certainly add some mystery to the 49ers ever-changing backfield under head coach Kyle Shanahan. Wilson, who ran for 600 yards and seven touchdowns last year, should be considered on waivers by fantasy managers in deeper leagues in need of a halfback.--Tim Capurso
