3 years agoColorado Avalanche defenseman Bowen Byram will not play on Saturday night against the San Jose Sharks. Byram took an elbow to the head on Thursday and was expected to play. However, the Colorado coaching staff noting Byram's history of concussions erred on the side of caution. The defenseman had gotten off to an excellent start for the Avalanche with eight points in 11 games. That included three goals and an increase in ice time to nearly 20 minutes a night.
