Astros Reportedly Meet With Starling Marte's Agents
3 years agoAccording to MLB Network's Jon Heyman, the Houston Astros reportedly met with outfielder Starling Marte's agents. The 33-year-old hit .308 with a .381 on-base percentage, 12 home runs, and 47 stolen bases in 526 plate appearances split between the Miami Marlins and Oakland Athletics last season. Houston began last season with Myles Straw starting in center field but traded Straw to Cleveland in a deal for reliever Phil Maton and catching prospect Yainer Diaz at the trade deadline. The Astros' current options to start between Michael Brantley and Kyle Tucker in the outfield include Chas McCormick, Jake Meyers, and Jose Siri.
