3 years agoNew York Yankees starting pitcher Gerrit Cole finished second in the voting for the American League Cy Young Award that was announced on Wednesday. Cole received one first-place vote but finished behind Toronto Blue Jays left-hander Robbie Ray, who received the other 29 first-place votes. Cole pitched to a 3.23 ERA and a 2.92 FIP in 181.1 innings in his second season with the Yankees. The veteran also allowed 41 walks while striking out 243 batters. This is the fifth time Cole has finished in the top five in Cy Young voting. He also finished second in the voting during the 2019 season while with the Houston Astros.--Ben Rosener - RotoBaller
