Alex Wood Agrees To Two-Year Deal With Giants
3 years agoThe San Francisco Giants are finalizing a deal with left-handed starting pitcher Alex Wood which will tie him to the team for two more seasons. The contract will be for at least $20 million dollars in total. Wood spent the 2021 season with the club, providing 138 2/3 innings across 26 starts with a 3.83 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, and 152 strikeouts. He had only managed 48 1/3 innings in the previous two seasons. Wood provides plenty of value as a fantasy asset, especially given his strong strikeout rate, but the concern will always be his health. He'll be a risk/reward option come draft time.
