3 years agoThe Kansas City Royals have requested unconditional release waivers on right-handed reliever Kyle Zimmer. Zimmer was previously designated for assignment by Kansas City as the club added Rule 5 draft-eligible prospects to the 40-man roster. The fifth-overall pick in the 2012 draft, Zimmer pitched to a 4.83 ERA and a 4.82 FIP in 54 innings for Kansas City last season, giving up 30 walks while striking out 46 batters.
