Rockies Reportedly Interested in Trevor Story Reunion
3 years agoAccording to a tweet from MLB Network's Jon Heyman, the Colorado Rockies reportedly "would like to try to bring back Trevor Story." One of the offseason's best available free-agent position players, Story spent the first six years of his career in Colorado. A career .272 hitter with a lifetime 112 wRC+, Story hit .251 with a .329 on-base percentage, 24 home runs, and 20 stolen bases in 595 plate appearances last season. The National League West club's current shortstop options include Brendan Rodgers and Garrett Hampson. Rodgers was the more productive of the duo last season, batting .284 with a .328 on-base percentage and 15 home runs in 415 plate appearances. However, Hampson did register 11 home runs and 17 stolen bases in 494 plate appearances.
