Red Sox Reportedly Sign Christin Stewart
3 years agoAccording to a tweet from WEEI's Rob Bradford, the Boston Red Sox have reportedly signed outfielder Christin Stewart to a minor-league contract. In 587 career plate appearances, all with the Detroit Tigers, Stewart has hit .225 with a .300 on-base percentage and 15 home runs. He didn't appear in the Majors last season but did bat .254 with a .339 on-base percentage, 21 home runs, a pair of stolen bases, and a 127 wRC+ in 343 plate appearances for Detroit's Triple-A affiliate. Boston's current outfield options on the 40-man roster include Alex Verdugo, Jarren Duran, Enrique Hernandez, Tim Locastro, Hunter Renfroe, Jeisson Rosario, and J.D. Martinez.
