Tyrod Taylor Week-To-Week, Davis Mills Expected To Start
3 years agoHouston Texans quarterback Tyrod Taylor (wrist) is listed as week-to-week and is believed to have torn ligaments in his left wrist, according to sources. As a result, rookie third-rounder Davis Mills is expected to make another start in Week 14 against the Seattle Seahawks. Mills started six games earlier this season when Taylor went on Injured Reserve with a hamstring injury, and he looked, well, like a rookie. The 23-year-old completed 69.11% of his 191 passing attempts for 1,255 yards, six touchdowns and seven interceptions while taking 19 sacks. To be fair, the Texans don't have enough playmakers on offense to give Davis much of a chance, so he'll return to being an emergency QB2 streamer in superflex leagues for however long Taylor is out this time around.

Tyrod Taylor Carted Off During Final Preseason Game
3 years agoNew York Giants quarterback Tyrod Taylor (back) was carted off the field during Sunday's preseason showdown versus the Jets. The veteran didn't last long, taking a shot from defensive end Micheal Clemons late in the first quarter. There should be an update surrounding his condition before the Week 1 opener versus the Tennessee Titans. However, if Taylor isn't available, Davis Webb is slotted to take over as Daniel Jones' backup.

Tyrod Taylor Impresses In Preseason Debut With The Giants
3 years agoThe Giants signed quarterback Tyrod Taylor as the backup to starter Daniel Jones this offseason. In Taylor's preseason debut for the Giants, he aired it out for 129 yards and a touchdown while completing 13 of his 21 pass attempts. The veteran signal-caller helped New York secure a victory over the New England Patriots in the exhibition contest on Thursday night. It is a do-or-die year for Jones in 2022 as he enters his fourth year in the NFL. Suppose Jones fails to perform well for an extended period during the regular season. In that case, Taylor could instantly become a viable streamer at the quarterback position in fantasy football due to his dual-threat upside.

Daniel Jones Won't Face Competition From Tyrod Taylor
3 years agoNew York Giants quarterback Daniel Jones continues to have job security as he enters his fourth season in the NFL. Owner John Mara told Jordan Raanan of ESPN that Jones is the team's No. 1 quarterback and offseason addition Tyrod Taylor is his backup. Mara recently gave Jones another vote of confidence, saying, "When we've been relatively healthy, he's shown enough talent to make us believe we can win with him." He also added that Jones' development should take a leap forward in 2022 with Brian Daboll as his head coach and a healthy roster surrounding him. From a fantasy perspective, while Jones' mobility is intriguing, his upside is capped around the mid-to-low QB2 range for the time being.

Tyrod Taylor Landing Deal With Giants
3 years agoQuarterback Tyrod Taylor is expected to sign with the New York Giants on a two-year deal worth up to $17 million. The 32-year-old played six games for the Houston Texans in 2021, accounting for eight total touchdowns while tossing five interceptions. He will likely serve as the No. 2 option behind Daniel Jones (neck) on the depth chart. However, despite the front office insisting that Jones is the team's starting signal-caller, his health may prevent him from playing an entire season, so there is a good chance Taylor could hold start some games in 2022. But he isn't someone fantasy managers should reach for in drafts for the 2022-23 campaign.
