3 years agoTennessee Titans wide receiver Julio Jones (hamstring) practiced for the second straight day on Thursday, but he remains on Injured Reserve. The Titans can activate Jones at any time from IR, but they are likely waiting to see if he can make it through a full week of practice without suffering any setbacks. The 32-year-old has dealt with lower-body injuries for most of the year and has played in just six games, catching 21 of 31 targets for 336 yards and no touchdowns. He has one 100-yard game (back in Week 2), but Jones has mostly been a low-upside WR4/flex, when healthy. Even if he's activated later this week and is active on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars, he could be eased back into an offensive role and won't be guaranteed to be the No. 1 receiver with A.J. Brown (hamstring) still on IR.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

2 years agoTampa Bay Buccaneers wide receivers Mike Evans (calf) and Julio Jones (knee) both returned to practice on Friday. The duo was absent from practice on Thursday, but their return to the field suggests both veteran receivers should play in Week 2 against the Saints. With Chris Godwin (hamstring) looking like a longshot to play, Evans ranks as a fantasy WR1 while Jones possesses WR3/FLEX appeal. Evans and Jones combined for 140 yards and one touchdown against the Cowboys in Week 1.--Andersen Pickard - RotoBaller

2 years agoTampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Julio Jones (knee) missed the team's practice on Thursday. With receivers Mike Evans (calf) and Chris Godwin (hamstring) also out on Thursday, the Buccaneers are suddenly extremely banged up at the position heading into a Week 2 divisional clash with the New Orleans Saints. Russell Gage (hamstring) missed practice on Wednesday, but he returned on Thursday. Godwin isn't expected to play this weekend, but it remains to be seen if Evans and Jones are actually in danger of sitting out. Jones also didn't practice on Wednesday, so if he doesn't do anything on Friday, he'll be unlikely to play against the Saints. In his Tampa debut, the 33-year-old caught three passes on five targets for 69 yards and also carried twice for 17 yards. Gage could be in line for some big-time target volume if Jones can't play.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

2 years agoTampa Bay Buccaneers wide receivers Julio Jones (knee) and Russell Gage (hamstring) both missed practice on Wednesday, as did Chris Godwin (hamstring). We'll have to see how much Jones and Gage are able to do the rest of the week before determining their status for Week 2 against the New Orleans Saints. Godwin is expected to miss a little time after tweaking his hammy in the season opener. But if Jones and Gage return to practice on Thursday and Friday and suit up on Sunday, they'll have even more upside with Godwin unlikely to play. Jones caught three of his five targets for 69 yards in his Bucs debut on Sunday night against the Dallas Cowboys, while Gage caught both of his targets for 13 yards.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

3 years agoTampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Julio Jones caught three of five targets for 69 yards while also rushing twice for 17 yards in Sunday's 19-3 win over the Dallas Cowboys. He was second on the team in targets behind only Mike Evans (seven). Jones also logged two carries on Sunday, his first rushing attempts since 2019. The veteran could see an increased role if Chris Godwin (hamstring) misses any games. Jones is mainly a flex option against New Orleans Saints in Week 2.--Brad Camara - RotoBaller
