Mike Evans Ruled Out For Week 16
3 years agoTampa Bay Buccaneers wide receiver Mike Evans (hamstring) has been deemed unavailable for Sunday's contest against Carolina as he battles a hamstring injury that he sustained last week. The absence of Evans marks the second Bucs wideout to be ruled out for Week 16, joining Chris Godwin (knee), who will miss the remainder of the season. Antonio Brown (ankle) and Tyler Johnson are in line to serve as Tom Brady's top pass-catching options out wide Sunday, while Rob Gronkowski should see elevated duties as well. Evans sits 101 receiving yards shy of 1,000 for the season, which would mark the first time in his eight-year career that he would fall shy of the plateau. He will have a tantalizing matchup vs. a rocky Jets defense in Week 17 if he can heal up in time.
