BALLER MOVE: Add in 12+ Team Leagues
ROSTERED IN: 55% of leagues
ANALYSIS: The deeper we get into the season, the more appealing all of the youngsters playing for bad teams will become. Enter Alperen Segun, he of the West-trailing, 10-23 Houston Rockets. I mean, the Texas-based team is going nowhere any time soon, so what's the point in keeping the Christian Wood + Daniel Theis partnership going on heavy minutes of play when those two don't even remotely align with the Rockets' development timeline? And yes, Wood is still young and good, but where there's smoke there's often fire and there have been whispers out there of a potential trade before the deadline.
Sengun, playing his rookie season, only started two games earlier in the season to kick November off on back-to-back nights. He's been on the pine in all other 30 games he's played through Christmas. Segun is averaging 19 MPG, and he can be considered the classic-in-shooting center, modern-in-everything-else big man. That's because the Turkish man is attempting only 1.2 3PA per game (29% accuracy) focusing instead on paint attempts (and putting up a nice FG% of 49.5 on the year).
That said, though, he's been fantastic at rebounding (4.9 RPG, eighth-most among rookies, and top-average among freshmen with fewer than 22 MPG), he's dishing out 2.8 APG (another top-8 mark among rookies--consider this is a Center we're talking about), and putting up almost 2.0 stocks per game (1 SPG, 0.8 BPG) through the year. The minute Sengun hits the starting lineup--and that might not be that far away--he will get rostered in pretty much every league because his numbers will inevitably sky-rocket. And by then, you definitely will want to have already rostered him before it's too late.

Fantasy Basketball Deeper-League Waiver Wire Adds for Week 24: Isaac Okoro, Kris Dunn, Josh Richardson, Corey Kispert, Delon Wright
The deeper a fantasy basketball league, the harder it is to hit a winner with your last few picks. It is also harder to find decent help from the waiver wire if your late-round picks don't do you justice. If you picked up a few stinkers, don't lose hope just yet. I will try to […]
Onyeka Okongwu (SF/PF, ATL): Week 24 Waiver Wire Pickups
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues ROSTERED IN: 16% of leagues ANALYSIS: The Hawks are currently the 10th seed in the East but are also tied for 8th and 9th with Brooklyn and Charlotte respectively. There's even a chance (albeit small) that Atlanta could rise as high as to reach the 7th seed if […]
Immanuel Quickley (PG, NYK): Week 24 Waiver Wire Pickups
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues ROSTERED IN: 48% of leagues ANALYSIS: If we use common basketball sense, then the New York Knicks and Coach Thibs should try and see what the young guys such as Immanuel Quickley have in them and what they can provide the franchise with ROS, as the NYK are […]
Deni Avdija (SG/SF, WAS): Week 24 Waiver Wire Pickups
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues ROSTERED IN: 37% of leagues ANALYSIS: One would reasonably think that a player seeing a playing-time boost such as that of Deni Avdija's this month would make said player drop his efficiency numbers. Well, not the case for the Wiz Wing by the looks of it. Avdija has […]
Nicolas Claxton (PF/C, BRK): Week 24 Waiver Wire Pickups
BALLER MOVE: Add in 14+ Team Leagues ROSTERED IN: 24% of leagues ANALYSIS: The Nets can finally rest assured they'll make the play-in portion of the season. Not quite what you expected when the season got rolling back in October, but at least more than what the Lakers would have accomplished a week from now. […]
