Diontae Johnson Placed On COVID-19 List
3 years agoPittsburgh Steelers wide receiver Diontae Johnson was placed on the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Thursday. Even with the NFL's updated policies, it will be hard for Johnson to get cleared ahead of Sunday's game against the Ravens, but it is possible if Johnson is vaccinated and has two negative tests before the game. If Johnson does miss the game, it will be a big blow to the Steelers in a game they need to win in order to have any shot to sneak into the playoffs. It's likely that James Washington would fill Johnson's role directly, and opponents have picked on the Ravens through the air for weeks now, but it's hard to envision Ben Roethlisberger taking many deep shots with the way Pittsburgh has called plays lately. Instead, we should expect more short area work for Najee Harris and Ray-Ray McCloud if Johnson were to miss.
