3 years agoSan Francisco 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo (thumb) threw some deep passes in practice on Thursday. The 49ers are notoriously vague with their injury timelines, and this injury is certainly no exception. Garoppolo's return has been teased for a couple straight weeks, and now, here we are again. Fortunately, regardless of if the veteran plays or not, the 49ers' other players remain static for fantasy. Although Trey Lance is far more startable himself, at this point in their respective careers, Lance and Garoppolo mean very similar things for their wide receivers and running backs. It should also be noted that Garoppolo will do everything he can to start as if he's out, Lance, the top three draft pick, will have another opportunity to permanently take his job.--Jordan Eisen
