Dolphins Move On From Brian Flores
3 years agoThe Miami Dolphins announced on Monday that they fired head coach Brian Flores after three seasons with the team. Owner Stephen Ross immediately shot down rumors of his interest in filling the vacancy with Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh, who said he would consider NFL offers this offseason. Despite firing Flores, the Dolphins will retain general manager Chris Grier, who will return for his seventh season as the GM. Under Flores, Miami had four offensive coordinators, two defensive coordinators and four offensive line coaches, among other changes. The Dolphins were expected to compete for the AFC East title in 2021 after finishing 10-6 and missing the playoffs last year, but a seven-game losing streak early in the year set them back. The Dolphins also had a seven-game winning streak, but they fell short and missed the playoffs for the fifth straight year.
