3 years agoHouston Texans running back Rex Burkhead's one-year deal for the 2022 season has a $2.35 million base value with $1.6 million fully guaranteed and $250,000 in per-game active roster bonuses ($14,075 per game). The deal will carry $2.1 million total guaranteed and salary cap figure and will include a $500,000 signing bonus, plus incentives. Burkhead led the Texans backfield this year with 122 carries for 427 yards and three touchdowns, and he added 25 receptions on 32 targets for 186 yards in the passing game. The 31-year-old took over as the starting RB in Week 11 and had a career-high 149 rushing yards and two touchdowns on 22 carries in the Week 16 upset of the Los Angeles Chargers. Burkhead will have a role in Houston's backfield yet again in 2022, but he won't be guaranteed a starter's workload for the entire season.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
