3 years agoGreen Bay Packers head coach Matt LaFleur announced on Wednesday that pass-rusher Za'Darius Smith (back) was designated to return from Injured Reserve. Smith's practice window is now open with an eye on him returning next week. The 29-year-old was back on the practice field on Wednesday after undergoing back surgery. Smith has been on IR since the season-opener, but he'll have extra time to recover with the Packers securing a first-round bye in the postseason. The two-time Pro Bowler had 52 tackles (35 solo), 12 tackles for loss, 23 QB hits, four forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries and 12.5 sacks in 2020. Smith may not be able to play an every-down role in the playoffs after his season-long layoff, but his presence will be a huge boost for the Packers defense.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
