Dolphins Expected To Build Around Tua Tagovailoa
3 years agoMiami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa is expected to be the team's starting QB in 2022, barring an unforeseen occurrence, according to sources. The organization's belief in him as their starter moving forward is considered significant. The hope is that the Dolphins will find a new head-coaching candidate who believes in Tagovailoa and is willing to build around him. After getting healthy in the second half of the season, the former first-rounder finished with a passer rating of 90.1 and a 16:10 touchdown-to-interception ratio. Former head coach Brian Flores was the one with interest in pursuing Texans QB Deshaun Watson, but owner Stephen Ross said he has "no plans" to pursue Watson again. With another year of experience under his belt, Tagovailoa could grow even more in his third season with the right head coach at his side.
